Hurray for Head Massagers!

When heading to a salon to get your “hair did”, what’s your favorite part? Is it chatting with your stylist and brainstorming what to do with your hair? Seeing the final product? Or painfully paying for the over-charged cut and blow dry? Mine are none of the above. The best part is the HEAD MASSAGE while they wash your hair!! ( I know right now you’re thinking and going ‘ummmm’ with your eyes shut) Ahhhh that is the best feeling and if I could I would pay someone to give me a head massage ALL DAY, EVERYDAY!

But since I am not Jenny from the Block (and still don’t have a lot), I’ll be content with a substitute for those amazing head rubbers that I happen to discover last week.

Remember my first Emily Giffin post? Well, this is fantastic news to EG fans… As I had mentioned before, the New York Times Best Seller author is making it BIG this year. It has not only been confirmed that Something Borrowed will be heading to the big screens but it will also have its follow-up movie- Something Blue !

We all know how a full week of work can be like… By the end of the week, you will need one of the two: A bed to knock out in or a knockout drink that can pay off for all that hard work you did in the office. Me? I pick the drink. I figured I can sleep when I am dead. But it can’t be any cocktail, it has to be THE DRINK. As any true Brazilian, my all-time favorite is our traditional caipirinha.

I can’t launch my blog and not mention Romero Britto. Since I moved to NYC, I’ve been shocked to how many people have never heard of this BRILLIANT artist who has become my absolute favorite!!!!!!

Anyone that knows me, knows I have Britto fever (I’m too old for Bieber fever anyway). Romero Britto, originally from the land of Carnaval (REPRESENT!), always stood out with his artistic abilities and level of creativity.

Growing up, I was never into books. This is what it meant to me:

BOREDOM = BOOKS < TV IS SO MUCH BETTER.

Sad, I know.

But I believe that was all a result of being tortured in both middle and high school with must-reads that were just terrible. Do you remember “Of Mice and Men”? … or let’s flashback a little more. Middle school’s “My Brother Sam is Dead” -REALLY? I had to read that entire book to find out on the last page that brother Sam was, in fact, dead.

My mind worked quite simple: there’s nothing better than visuals. So instead of making me read, give me a movie and I’ll capture the story without getting bored. 

It all changed in college when I found out the beauty of reading.( Heyyyy, better late than never right?) I was about to head over to Europe for the summer and was sure I needed more than my  IPOD to keep me entertained. So I went in search for books… and one book covered grabbed my attention–called Something Borrowed.

This is beyond excitement to me!! The first post of my very own blog. So cheers to this!!! Let’s make writing on this blog, our very own special conversation. Shall we? 

Ever since I was little, I got in trouble for talking too much. My detentions slips were all the same–due to ‘excessive talking’ that according to my teachers, disrupted the class. I’d like to think of it as a ‘communicator in the making.’ That has always been me… a social butterfly. Although I’m more like a bee since I can get feisty. But if you stay on my good side (and read my blog) I am as sweet as honey!

Aside from the fact that it is pretty much mandatory of anyone dealing with the Media to have one of these, I believe it’s one of the fantastic creations of our super advance technology.

My desire is that you enjoy my share of randomness from very serious news to personal journeys of my own- I want to share pieces of my world with you. This is not just to get you know me better… it’s also for me to get to know myself better.
